Replacing one of the washers with a reducing washer provides the transition needed to connect with the IKEA parts. The waste arm appears to attach to the J-bend by compression. The wall tube also provides the flexibility to work with the other parts in some off-kilter angles. In terms of the assembly, I started from each end of the connections sink and waste line and performed the cuts around the p-trap area. I actually wish that it is longer so I can set the vertical Y-branch two branches at the top for the sink drain and overflow at the far back corner of the cabinet. Plumbing Company Plumbing Odors Every time we flush our toilet, there’s a foul odor. It smells like stinking fish and permeates the house. Could there be a leak in the pipes? What can we do about it?
Dec 13, · there is a hose for a drawer dishwasher that is 2 hoses coming into 1 end, but i can’t remember who the heck makes it. i’ll keep looking or you can just install 2 tailpieces stacked on top of one another and use 2 separate hoses.
How do we rig up a sink in a room with no running water? January 11, So we have two rooms connected by a door, A and B. B has a bathroom. A needs a sink. How can we make this happen? Worst case scenario involves running a hose from the sink in B’s bathroom into something in A. Best case scenario might involve tanks of water and a the magic of gravity or some sort of pump.
The water that comes out of A’s sink doesn’t need to be fancy – it’s going to be used for things like washing dishes and paintbrushes. The door to A is about feet from B’s bathroom, and the sink can be put just about anywhere in A, although we’d love to be a little flexible. Whether we need to fill it up all of the time or build a huge crazy contraption or whatever, all ideas are welcome!
Getting it out is hard without having to schlup it out in a bucket. I’d use two buckets and just go with that.

An expert overview of home plumbing systems, including water supply, drain-waste-vent, and more. If you have ever camped in the great outdoors, you have probably been reawakened to the joys of modern plumbing. By going without running water, a hot shower, or a flushing toilet, you can fully appreciate how important these are to daily life. Because plumbing is complicated and one of the costliest systems to repair or install in a home, it pays to understand how the system works.
Regarding planning for major plumbing work:
Doing plumbing repairs in your particular camping unit is a part of regular maintenance. Inspection at the beginning of the season is a must if your sojourns to our great campgrounds are to be a success.
Both the fitting in the wall, and the discharge port of the garbage disposal are “givens”, they are where they are. The pipe going into the wall fitting is a “wall tube”, which connects to the U-shaped pipe, a “J bend”, and they make up the “P-trap”. This is already in place and should remain so. The area from this p-trap going up to the bottom of the sink is your target for the garbage disposal.
If you were to come straight out from the disposal across to this area, do you end up above the p-trap? If so, there will be a way to hook it up cleanly. Exactly how mainly involves whether the p-trap is directly below the sink basin without the disposal, or if it winds up more centered between the two basins because of where the wall entry is to be made.
Consider this until you understand what your situation is, taking some measurements and some cell pics to a good hardware store or building center to get what you need to DIY – or call a pro to hook it up. If, on the other hand, that shot from the disposal over to the p-trap ends up below the p-trap Without the kind of tear-down and wall surgery you’re worried about, it’s still possible to refit, by lowering the j-bend and adapting a replacement for the wall tube that would have to come back up before going to the wall, but not good.
I’m hoping that a normal approach will succeed.

I got a fireplace installation estimate. One of the items was running gas line to the fireplace. The gas is about 30 feet from the fireplace with the gas meter inside the basement and the fireplace on the next floor. The ceiling is partially open like an unfinished basement for 15 feet and then a drop ceiling on the finished part for the last 15 feet.
A possibly tricky part would be drilling a hole through a brick wall where the fireplace goes in a wood frame room addition added on to a brick house. I know I need a person who is certified to work on gas lines for safety reasons but this one part of the bid seems high and this is ONLY for the gas line installation, not anything else as those things are listed separately and by the way are also high.
This guy is the only dealer of the brand I want in my area and if you don’t buy locally they aren’t obligated to service your fireplace.
how to hook up a water hose to a kitchen faucet
Water backing up into the garbage disposal and then the sink is generally caused by food that is left in the disposal. If you leave food particles in the disposal and then forget about them without grinding them up and then sending them through the drain pipes with a good amount of cold water, these food particles will clog up your drainage system.
Since the dishwasher and the garbage disposal share the same drainage pipes, you will have plumbing problems in the kitchen if you do not make sure that food particles from the disposal are cleared before using the dishwasher. When it is time to run the dishwasher, many people are tired after work and having dinner. They want to scrape the plates and put the food particles down the garbage disposal.
After that, they want to load the dishwasher, turn it on and then forget about it.

Instead of retaining water in them at all times, toilets in campers use a trapdoor-type slide plus a water flush component to dispose of the waste. The water connection to the toilet is no different than used at home. One of the most common problems with the toilet is incomplete closing of the sliding trap door. When operating correctly, the slide fits snugly into a groove.
After a period of time, bits of toilet paper may become lodged in the groove preventing the slide from closing tightly. This will allow air to seep from the waste holding tank, causing an odor problem. Carefully clean this groove with a small piece of wire until the slide seats properly into the groove. Size Doesn’t Matter RV Plumbing Repairs Are Usually Simple Another common problem with an RV waste system is the short life of the rubber seals contained in the outside valves that lead from both the gray-water and black-water holding tanks.
These seals are merely rubber o-rings which fit tightly around the slide valve rods.
